Meet the Northshore Dental Team

A San Diego native, Dr. Kirkland’s journey in dentistry has taken her up the beautiful West Coast. She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA before attending the renowned University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for dental school, where she graduated with awards and honors in 2013. After practicing in San Diego, a desire to be near her sister and a love for the Pacific Northwest brought her to the Seattle area in 2015.

Dr. Kirkland joined the Northshore Dental family in 2016 and has since become an integral part of our practice, taking a leading role in providing outstanding care to the Kenmore community.

Outside of the office, Dr. Kirkland and her husband enjoy an active lifestyle, having first met playing ultimate frisbee. They love exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest outdoors with their young son and their dog.

A native of South Florida, Dr. Karen Bennett began her career in dentistry as a dental hygienist, a role she held for ten years before relocating to the Pacific Northwest. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1994, graduating with awards and honors.

Following dental school, Dr. Bennett completed a one-year post-doctoral General Practice Residency. This hospital-based program provided her with invaluable experience managing the dental care of patients with complex medical needs.

Dr. Bennett began her private practice career at Northshore Dental in Kenmore, joining Dr. Christopher Kindem.

Dr. Bennett believes in partnering with patients to create personalized treatment plans that support long-term oral health. As a dedicated and compassionate professional, she is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Outside of the office, Dr. Bennett loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Her favorite pastimes include skiing, hiking, swimming, gardening, and cooking.

Colleen is a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist who has been a valued member of the Northshore Dental family since 2005. A graduate of Pueblo Community College, Colleen brings over 22 years of experience in providing comprehensive dental care.

She believes in a gentle and compassionate approach, ensuring her patients feel comfortable and well-cared for. Committed to lifelong learning, Colleen stays current with the latest techniques and technologies through annual continuing education and is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).

Outside of the office, Colleen enjoys traveling (especially to tropical beaches), sailing, camping, and fly-fishing with her husband. She also loves spending quality time with her two daughters.

An indispensable member of our team since 2015, Danniél is a Registered Dental Assistant who is passionate about helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. Her primary goal is to make every visit a comfortable and stress-free experience, ensuring patients feel informed and confident from start to finish. This dedication is clear in everything she does, from her seamless teamwork with Dr. Kirkland to the essential role she plays in keeping our office running smoothly.

Originally from Louisiana, Danniél grew up in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood and now calls Snohomish home, where she lives with her husband, three children, and five cats.

Jana is the welcoming face that greets you at our front desk and the organizational force that keeps our office running smoothly. As our Office Manager, she brings an incredible 30 years of experience in the dental field to our practice. Since joining our team in 2020, Jana has been dedicated to ensuring every patient feels comfortable, informed, and cared for from the moment they walk in.

A true Washington local, Jana grew up in nearby Shoreline. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes is exploring the beauty of our state by visiting various farmers’ markets and discovering charming towns. A dedicated animal lover, Jana brings a warm and compassionate energy to our team. You may even catch a glimpse of her sweet little lapdog, Tigg, who sometimes joins her at the office! Jana looks forward to meeting you at your next visit.
